June 15, 2004 - I spent the night in Front Royal, VA just outside of the Shenandoah National Park, and headed up into it this morning. When I went to bed last night we had some rain comming down, but by this morning it had turned into a nice day with a few clouds. I entered the park at around 7:00 this morning and with all the stopping along the way through the park, it was around 4:00 in the afternoon by the time I left. I did manage a few little trips on some of the trails there, and did one longer hike of about 2 miles along the Appalachian Trail. Right now everything is in a million shades of green and with the highs up in the upper 80's and the humidity in the 80% range it was a very muggy hike. The smells of all the different plants and different types of trees was a real delight. But then it was time to head back down the ridge and back towards Virginia Beach. The images from today are of a marker for the trail, and of part of the trail I was on, through this area you almost felt like you were in a park, instead of up on top of a mountain.

June 14, 2004 - Left Pittsburgh today and took a whole new road down towards Virginia Beach. Lots of old county roads and little towns, and a lot of going up and down through the hills and valleys around here. I love all of the different types of trees around here with their different leaves, and the way they rap around the different rock formations, as you travel along the roads. Tomorrow I will head up along the Shenandoah Park Way, so I will get an early start because the speed limit through there is only 35 mph, and I will travel about 150 miles along the drive before heading east towards my destination in Virginia Beach. Todays images are from Union City, PA and from a bridge over the Shenandoah River, where I had just finished taking a little swim.

June 13, 2004 - Sunday's over, I finally got out of there at around 12:00 and made it out without any rain. The show had a few more people there today. These are a few images from the show. Tomorrow it is off to Virginia Beach, have to be there by Wendesday for an afternoon setup. I will try some new roads on the way.

June 12, 2004 - Day 2 of the art festival, after yesterdays rain it was nice to get a good sunny day. Not much going here Kerry was in town and they are repaving 279 into Pittsburgh, so there were not to many people around compared to last year. Tomorrow is supposed to be a 50/50 day as far as weather goes, we hope for the best.

June 11, 2004 - Rain, rain, rain, with a lot of wind thrown in, what a way to start an Art Festival. Tomorrow is supposed to a lot better though. Todays images are taken from in front of my booth, as you can see, it wasn't that busy out there.

June 10, 2004 - Today I was finally able to find my way up a overlook of Pittsburgh. There are several different places to stop, which I did, and got some panoramic type shots of the city and the three rivers that come together around it. Then it was back to the show that evening and the start of setting up for the show this weekend.

June 09, 2004 - Tonight, and I am now sitting outside of Pittsburgh. Tomorrow I will do some shooting around the town and will try and get a shot from up above the city as you come in from the tunnel. It took me all day to get here. If I would have driven strait here it might have taken around 1 1/2 hours, but because I took the back roads again I covered around another 200 miles. The shots today are from along the river again.

June 08, 2004 - Today I think I did a total of around 85 miles of driving and ended up about 25 miles from where I spent the night. I spent most of it along the Ohio river taking pictures of some of the buildings in town. I did go to one antique store and bought a new camera, it's only around 50 years old, but is in great shape and still works just fine. I was able to use it for a lot of my shots that I was shooting in black and white. It was another one of those middle of America hot muggy days that bring a haze to the air from all the moisture in it. I am waiting any day for a thunder storm to roll in, by the afternoon you can see the beginnings of what could be one. I will spend one more day around here and then head on towards Pittsburgh. Todays images are brought to you as toned pictures to give them the look of a bygone era in the steel towns along the mighty rivers of the midwest.

June 07, 2004 - On the road again, this time towards Pittsburgh. I think I put on around 100 miles today, made it as far as the Ohio river. I was able to get a few shots that might work for some new images, an old Dimaond T truck and a few barns with Mail Pouch Tobacco painted on the sides. It was a great day for driving, the temperature was up in the 80's and humid. The air had that thick feeling to it and the smells from the farms and the surounding forests made you feel pretty good. The first image is of an old brick road that was a part of the first road through these parts, it is all a part of the old national road that ran through here The second is of one of the old barns that has the Mail Pouch Tobacco advertising on it. Tomorrow I will take a trip down the side of the Ohio river and maybe get some shots from the old steel towns along the river.

June 06, 2004 - Sunday, and the end of another show. Now at least I have a few days off before I have to set up in Pittsburgh. Tonight Seung and I went out and had sushi after we finished tearing down and packing up. It will be fun to take some new back roads this week. Now that I'm starting on my new process I am going to be able to use a lot of different types of images for my work.

June 05, 2004 - IAnother day at the show. I did some walking around to see what was out there and came across this food booth and thought that this looked kinda interesting. There is a lot of great work here at this festival. Towards evening a thought that I would shoot the outside of my booth when these people happened to stroll by and jumped into the picture. Well one more day to go tomorrow and then comes the big tear down again, but this should be a little quicker because I am set up in their booth so I will not have to tear that down.

June 04, 2004 - It is now 12:30 Friday night and I am just getting ready to write todays happenings. By the time the show closes down at 10:00 and I get my booth buttoned up for the night it is around 11:00 and then I ride my bike back to the hotel, time fly's by real quick. It was another nice day here with the high around 75 degrees and a slight breeze, and a few more people than yesterday. My first image for the day was this little kid with an orange shirt with a orange ballon hat to go along with it. The second image is from around 9:30 at night, and was a little longer exposure to get a more of a blurred artsy type image.

June 03, 2004 - Thursday at the art festival. I have a good spot with the park right behind me and over the hill is the main stage for music, so I get to listen to different types of music all day and into the evening until 10:00 at night. It was a long day though, and will feel good to get some sleep tonight. It was a great day for weather, with hardly a chance of rain for the weekend. The images today are from the street in front of my booth and a view of downtown Columbus from the waterfront.

June 02, 2004 - Spent the night in Nashville and then headed up to Columbus, OH. I got in there around 6:00 that afternoon and by the time I was able to start setting up it was 8:00. They have me under one of there own tents at this show so I had to build up my whole booth from the ground up. By the time I got out of there it was almost 3:00 in the morning, good thing this show dosen't open till 11:00 this morning. The images are from driving through, #1, Cinncinati, and #2, comming into Columbus.

June 01, 2004 - Left this morning for Columbus for my next festival, by looking at the weather in Dallas it looks as if we left just in time. Rain, lightning, and tennis ball size hail, oh my! This first shot is from along I-30 , going through Mississippi. The second is as I crossed the Mississippi river and drove through Memphis.
