July 29, 2004 - Another day of getting everything ready for my next set of shows. I finished off all my pictures, now all I have to do is run the wires across the back and then by Saturday I will be able to start loading up my van so that I can take off on Sunday.
July 26, 2004 - Whew! when will it ever end. That's the problem with being home, while I'm here all I do is get things ready for the next road trip. So it's work, work, work, building new frames and putting together the artwork to go in them. Plus now I'm starting on a new process and as I go along with it I am slowly refining it and giving it a little different look. So it's hard to put anything up on my site when a day later it will change into something else. I am getting away from using glass and matting and going with the one of theme. So I figure that by the time I start my fall shows, I should have it looking the way I want. So forgive me if I am not writing things down in here every day, but this new process is taking up all my time, and until I figure out a pattern to putting things together it will stay that way till I leave. Then you will start seeing things in here every day again.
July 21, 2004 - Hola! I'm back again, It's been a busy two weeks since I've been here and will try and fill in the blank days as I go here in the next few days. I am now starting to build more frames for my new work and at the same time trying to show off my work in a different way, one that gives it more of a tile look like my polaroid transfers did. It will also make sure that each image is unique. So now I am painting a background and working with a gel medium to build up some texture under my images, and then floating my images as tiles on top of all this.
July 10, 2004 - Did some more work today on my images, and then took off in the afternoon and went fishing with my son.
July 9, 2004 - After another day of working on my pictures we went out to moms for dinner, and then over to my brothers to see his horses. The first image is of Ben with a few of them, and the second is of my brother with his first horse, which he has had for over 18 years now.
July 8, 2004 - Finished working on some of my images today and needed to take a break to rest the mind, and to think of some other ways of showing my work . So, this afternoon we took off and did some fishing. No bites, no fish, but a lot of fun.
July 7, 2004 - Another day of working on my images again. I have to do something about getting some pictures up for the day without shooting the same old thing every day while I'm home. I took the afternoon off though and went fishing with Ben, but we didn't catch a thing, oh well, what you gonna do.
July 6, 2004 - Today was spent working on some new images and also getting in touch with people that have contacted me through my mail. I have several new auto images along with a new shot of the Grand Tetons that I think will work out nicely for my wet prints.
July 5, 2004 - Another day without pictures, somebody better talk to the camera man. I started working on some new ways of putting my images together, but it will take a few more days before it will come together as a single piece to see what it will realy look like. In the afternoon Ben and I went out fishing down off the dock in Tacoma, didn't catch a thing, although some of the other people around us were catching some starfish off their lines. And there were a few that did catch some fish. Later this week we will try down on the Green river.
July 4, 2004 - Not much going on today. after all the driving it feels good to be home for a while, so today was just a day to go through my stacks of mail and sort out the good, the bad, and the ugly, so to speak. That evening we got up on the roof of my house and watched the fire works, and that was it.
July 3, 2004 - I picked up my son from Pullman today and headed the rest of the way home. We had great weather for the ride, puffy white clouds, and the wheat just starting to turn to gold. It got a little windy as we approached the Columbia river. As we went across the bridge we were pushed sideways by the wind, and then there were 3 to 4 foot waves on the river. We pretty much fought the wind the rest of the way, you could almost watch the gas gage drop as we used up gas fighting the wind, until we got to the sumit of the pass, then it was easy the rest of the way home. The images today are from the wheat fields, and as we started across the Columbia river.
July 2, 2004 - One more day of driving and I will finaly be back home. It feels good to see mountains again, something over 4,000 feet. Most of my day was spent driving at around 5,000 to 6,000 feet elevation, and there is still another 5,000 feet of mountain above you. The images of the day are of some of those mountains, and of the old towns that are there.
July 1, 2004 - Left Casper, WY this morning and headed out towards Jackson Hole. On the way there I stopped at a little place called Hells 1/2 Acre, about 40 miles out of Casper. This area looks more like the Bad Lands of South Dakota, but this is where they filmed part of a Si Fi movie called Starship Troopers. After that I continued on to Jackson Hole, where I wanted to get some shots of the Grand Tetons with some storm clouds around them, and I got my wish. I did some panoramic shots where I stood in one place and took 7 or 8 seperate shots and also got them in Black and White and in color. After that I continued on to Idaho Falls where I will spend the night. The images today are from a area of red hills in eastern Wy. and of a barn with the Tetons as a backdrop.
