February 28, 2005 - Hola! well I guess I haven't been in here for a while, I've been pretty busy and it seems as though every day is the same old thing. So I thought that it being the last day of the month I better put something down in here, even if it is the same old thing. So since the last time I was in here I have been building frames and today I stained 170 of them. Then I went and picked up some more wood to build some more frames that will end up sitting inside of the frames that I just built. I have also just about finished up my new little shed, just some trim to put around it on the corners, and then along the top of it. Later I will cut in three windows that are framed in, but I went ahead and put up the metal siding over them until I have a little more time to finally set the windows. Plus, now that the shed is water proof, I was able to move the finished frames out there, and Radar cleaned out the shop so there is a little more room in there to move around. So that is what today's images are about, the almost completed shed, and the inside of my shop. So that's it for this month, I will try and do better this coming one, see you later.
February 18-27th, 2005 - I just added this to complete these open dates where I didn't put anythig in, see above for more details.
February 17, 2005 - Pretty much finished up the box today, all I gotta do is put on a door and some trim and that will do for a while. Tomorrow I will get the door on and then get to work on a frame order that has to be done by the time I leave again.
February 16, 2005 - First day back home, and I went to work on finishing up my new shed for storing my lumber and frames in. That's about it nothing more to say.
February 15, 2005 - Today I took off early so I could make sure I would be home tonight. It started out as a cloudy day, and by the time I got to Reno it was just starting to snow a little, nothing that really stuck to the ground, but just enough to let you know that it was still winter. By the time I made it up towards Klamath Falls, Oregon, the sun had replaced the gray skies and made for a nice afternoon of driving. Later that afternoon I went through Oakridge and stopped in on some friends to say hi, and then left for the rest of the ride home. I ended up putting on close to 900 miles today, and got back home around 10:30 this evening. The images today are of the edge of the lake on the drive through Klamath Falls, while the other image is of the Beamers and their new puppy.
February 14, 2005 - Well, Happy Valentines Day to everyone out there. Today I got a little over 600 miles down the road, I would have gotten a little farther but sometimes you just have to take some side trips. So, the first image is from my first side trip of the day, out off of highway 60 along the Joshua Tree Parkway in Arizona, while the second image is from later that afternoon, while I was in Nevada, parked along highway 93, looking for some rocks to take back home.
February 13, 2005 - Last day of the show, we finally got some sun, but we never got the crowds. So I took down my booth that night and put on a few miles out to the other side of Phoenix so that I would not have to deal with the packed freeways in the morning.
February 12, 2005 - Saturday in Scottsdale, AZ, and I feel like I'm at home. It rained while I was setting up yesterday and it rained almost all day today. Finally, this afternoon, late in the day, the sun finally came out. So the first image today is of the sun shining on my booth, while the second image is from a fountain which is just down the row from where my booth is. I shot this image as I was going back to my van after dinner tonight.
February 11, 2005 - So here it is, Friday night, and I'm almost done setting up for a art festival in Phoenix. It's been raining all day so I still have to hang my work tomorrow morning before the show starts. So I thought that today I would have some pictures to show, and I did take some, but now it's late and I left my camera out in the van and I don't want to go back out and get it, so there will be no pictures tonight either. But I will have some up tomorrow after the show, so we will see you tomorrow.
February 10, 2005 - I started out thinking that I would have some pictures for today but with trying to get to Phoenix by Friday afternoon I spent all day just driving, so thats about it.
February 9, 2005 - Wow, this is like destruction week on the Discovery channel on TV. Yesterday was the aftermath of the hurricane from last fall, and today we have trucks rolling over and tanker trucks sliding across the meridian and over across the oncoming lanes of traffic. The rest of the day was spent driving to San Antonio, TX. I hope the rest of the week is safer for my drive home. The first image is of a truck that got hit and spun out and rolled over on it's side, while the second image is from a tanker truck that spun out and slid across the meridian and left this big chewed up mess all the way over across the other lanes of traffic and up onto the other embankment.
February 8, 2005 - As I left Tallahassee this morning I thought that I might get some nice shots out along the gulf as I drove towards Pensacola, I did take a lot of pictures as I went along the coast but when I got out to the outer islands of the Pensacola area I was able to drive out to t where the hurricane came in last fall. Wow, what a sight, there were a lot of leveled buildings and in some places they just took a cat and pushed everything up into a huge pile of rubble. The whole area was like a ghost town, with just a few construction trucks around the area. I had to turn around and go back out over the bridge that I came over on because the road has been washed out along with the bridges going back out the other end. It was a real eye opener. The images from today are of some of the distruction that was out there.
February 7, 2005 - No pictures today, for me it was just a day to get out of town and put on a few miles closer towards Texas. Right now I am sitting in Tallahassee and will now cut back down along the gulf and go to Pensacola, and see some white sand and maybe a little more sun.
February 6, 2005 - Sunday, and another nice day of weather in Mt. Dora. Another big crowd of people at the fair, but with the Super Bowl coming up later that day, it started to thin out in the afternoon. So todays images are of the crowd during the day, and then of the artists coming in that evening to tear down their booths. And so another art festival is over.
February 5, 2005 - Saturday at the show. I finished setting up my booth and then did a little stroll around the art festival to say hi, and to check out what else was there. It started out a little cool down here this morning for some of the people , but warmed up nicely as the day went along. We ended up getting a bunch of people out here as you can see by the difference between what the morning looked like and the afternoon in the images that I took today. Now it's time for me to kick back for the rest of the night, after all it is my birthday. You all have a great evening, see you later.
February 4, 2005 - Got up this morning and worked my way up to MT. Dora, on the way I stopped at several different places and picked up some supplies and some lumber at Home Depot for a small platform for some large framed pieces to sit on in my booth. I started setting up my booth at 7:00 pm tonight and finally finished up at 12:00. So now I'm sitting here finishing up this little story of the day and then I hit the sack, I still have a few things to do tomorrow morning. Todays images are of my setup at the show.
February 3, 2005 - Back on the road again. This morning I left Seattle and flew back to Orlando for my next show this weekend, I pretty much spent the whole day on a plane so there's not much to talk about. The images from today are of the sunrise at Seatac airport and of the passengers at one of the restaurants getting something to eat this morning.
February 2, 2005 - Last day at home for a few days, tomorrow I fly out to Orlando. In the mean time, today, I did some remodeling in my office, I had some space that was not being put to good use, and now it is.
February 1, 2005 - Since you like looking at pictures, and it's been pretty boring around here I thought I would show you a few shots from the Pike Place Market up in Seattle. I was up there the other day, and it's always a good place to get some interesting pictures. It's also a great place for fresh seafood. Other than that, not much going on here. I tore to wood planers apart today to fix some things that were wrong with them, and then put new blades in them, getting everything ready to hop back to work making frames after this next show in Florida. But that's about it for now, see you later.
