March 31, 2005 - Man, what a long day. It started out at 6:00 yesterday morning when I got up and filled out some applacations for some shows that had to be postmarked by today, then went to tne airport at 5:00 pm to catch a plane to Houston. I got into Houston at 4:00 in the morning, and when I got to my car, found that I had left the lights on. So my battery was dead. After getting a jump, I was on my way. It started out as a very foggy day, so I kept to the side roads where I could take my time and also because with the fog, it had a really nice effect with the trees off in the distance. Later that morning I finally pulled into Dallas and went to Love Field to pick up a box that I had shipped out the day before. So today I thought that one of my shots of the foggy trees would look good, and also this shot of a Southern catfish Tree. It seems like I see alot of these down here. So now it's close to 9:00 pm and I think I will hit the hay and get ready to set up my booth tomorrow.

March 27, 2005 - Hola! It's Sunday night and I finally have a few minutes to sit down and put in a few words for the day. So for the past few days I have been here at home working on putting together a few pieces of work to take back out on the road with me. I was able to get everything done on the frames, including getting them sprayed with lacquer. Then on Saturday it started to rain and hasn't let up yet. Now I just got done putting on the top coating over my images, and tomorrow I will mount them into their frames. By Tuesday evening they will be at the airport and then on there way back to my van in Houston. I will then head back out there too, and then I will start back with my pictures on the road again. So, until then, see you later.

March 22, 2005 - So I'm a little late, it was a long way home. It started out at 3:30 in the morning when I got up to get ready to leave for my flight home. What a morning at the airport, first my flight was canceled, and then I was run around in circles trying to get on another flight. By the time I had finished, I had gone through security five times in the same airport. That alone was enough to wear you out. But I finally did get away from there and made it home. The images of the day are from when I first sat there waiting for the boarding of my original flight, to when I was finally flying by Mt. Rainier before landing in Seattle.

March 21, 2005 - So here it is, Monday, and I am now leaving Houston, and will go on to my next show in Dallas. On the way out of town I went to a camera shop to get some film, and as I was on my way there, came across these railroad tracks. I was also listening to the radio, and they happened to be talking about how Houston has more road crossings for trains than any other city in the United States, and also has more accidents than anywhere else. I thought this was funny since I was sitting here waiting for the train to pass. Then it was back out on the road, and as I was looking out my mirror, I had this perfect shot of Houston, so, I had to shoot it as I drove out of town, at least for a while, anyway. And that was about all the excitement for the day. I have to get up early tomorrow morning, so, bye for now.

March 20, 2005 - Sunday afternoon and the show is over, now comes the tear down and packing up, and trying to crunch everything back into your van. And then there are the good bye's to your friends and head out down the road to another festival. I look forward to finding another back road that I haven't been down before, and exploring, hoping to get a new shot or just to see the wonders of being on the road. So tonight's images are from our tear down, right after the show closed and later on that evening when all you have are the street lights to load your truck by. Good night.

March 19, 2005 - Good evening to you all, the day started nice and sunny with some patchy clouds, and we had a nice crowd of people. By late in the afternoon, though, the storm clouds had moved in and we ended up getting some rain and lighting. Later that evening it was time for our annual trek to Floyd's Cajun Restaurant for dinner. It started out as just a few of us going there a few years ago and now it's up to anywhere from 12 to 18 people sitting down to eat. In the spring it's time for fresh Crawfish, so we order around 6 to 8 pounds for the table and chow down before we finally order our dinners. Bon appetite.

March 18, 2005 - Friday, first day of the festival, and it was a nice sunny day. This is a nice setting on a loop in Memorial Park, so there are a lot of trees and the booths are all along one side of the road that runs around here. These are some images looking out each way from my booth.

March 17, 2005 - Pulled in today to finish setting up my booth. Now the rest of the artist are starting to show up and setting up to. I'm glad I got my booth up yesterday, so now I just have to set up my art work inside. Todays images are from the start of the move in for the festival, tomorrow it will be packed, booth to booth. see you then.

March 16, 2005 - Hi, here I am again, same day different story. Today I dropped Radar off at the airport and then went over to where the art festival will be and started to do some setting up for the show. Today I set up the framework , and tomorrow I will set up my artwork inside. So todays images are from my drive into the show and of the start of my booth being set up. And that will now do it for today, because I now have to catch up on some much needed sleep. See you later.

March 15, 2005 - So I'm a day late, I have a great excuse, my van had some problems. When I was getting ready to leave El Paso the next morning my van did not want to fire up. It has been fluttering every once in a while when I started up, or when I started out from getting gas. What it turned out to be was the fuel pump in the gas tank finally gave up, I guess after 373,000 miles it was about time. So anyway that took all day to have that repaired, and after driving until 12:30 at night I was to tired to write. So here I am now and here are some pictures to look at. These are from Texas, late in the afternoon. All I had time to do was stick my camera out the window and shoot.

March 14, 2005 - Today was spent driving around looking at different types of cactus and collecting more rocks, as we headed on towards Houston, TX. This first shot was from down in Tucson, in the Saquaro National Park. It was hard to pick which image I wanted to use because of all the other great image I had. The second image is from later on in the afternoon, we had just crossed over into New Mexico, and pulled of onto a side road to take a brake and look around. As I drove up this dirt trail I went by this old run down cemetery, after parking I came back down and got several shots. The place was pretty much falling in on itself. I think that this image I shot pretty much summed up the feeling that this whole place had. Along with this cross crumbling away, the wind was blowing strong enough to cause the cross to sway back and forth. And now I am sitting in El Paso, and will call it quits for the night, See you tomorrow!

March 13, 2005 - So here I am, now in Phoenix, but along the way there were a few stops to be made. One of them was to an area along I-10 that I will sometimes pull off to, to strech my legs. This time though, we stopped and Radar went out looking for rocks. This area happens to have alot of agates laying around, so he had a field day picking them up to take back home. While we where there I took a few shots from around the place, and thought that this one pretty much gave you a view of what the area was like. If you look close enough you will see my van in about the middle of the picture, it is the little white dot. Later that day we finally made it to Phoenix, and out to the Art Festival. There I stopped in on some old friends to say hi and to see what they were up to. After the show closed, a few of us got together for dinner and sushi. One of the foods ordered was a Caterpillar roll, which when they make it up , is supposed to look like a caterpiller. I think that this one had to be the best one yet, and that is the second image. Also the rest of the food was great, and a fun time was had by all.

March 12, 2005 - Up and at em, another day on the road. This time we left from Davis, CA, just outside of Sacramento, and made it to Palm Springs by around 6:00 in the evening. In between we had a great drive and I got to show Radar one of the side roads that I travel on. This one was from along highway 58 on the way up to Tehachapi. It is a little siding road that takes you to an overlook of the Tehachapi Loop, a place where as the trains go up or down this grade they will actually circle around in a loop and cross back across themselves, I’ve always liked to sit on this knoll which looks out over this loop and have watched several trains go through this before I will finally leave. So this is where the first image is from. The second is from just outside of Palmdale, CA, on highway 138, heading east towards highway 15 and on to Palm Springs. The Joshua Trees are starting to bloom and as I wandered through this area i just kinda liked this shot with the cactus and Joshua Trees, and the mountains in the background, I hope you like them as much as I did.

March 11, 2005 - Ahhhhh! First day back out on the road, it feels good. Left home around 7:30 this morning and made it almost into Sacramento this evening. Along the way I stopped and checked out some flowering bushes that I have always wanted to dig up and take back home with me. These are from up in the Mt. Shasta area along I-5 heading south. Radar will take some seed pods and a sample from a branch and see if we can figure out what they are. That is what the first image is from. The second one is from a view point along the freeway over looking the valley with Mt. Shasta in the background. More to come tomorrow, see ya later.

March 10, 2005 - So finally, here I am again. This time I am getting ready to go back out on the road again, this time to Houston, TX, for the Bayou City Art Festival. It has been a hectic few weeks here trying to get a frame order done for delivery down to Palm Springs, on my way to Texas. But it's done and my van is actually loaded and ready to roll on out the driveway Friday morning. So you can see by the images that my shop is now clean, at least till I get back and start all over again, and my van is packed as full as you can possibly get it. Now all I have to do is strap myself in and get the heck outa here. And, on the plus side, now I will be back to putting up some new pictures in the evening of my travels, so we'll see you on down the road.

March 4, 2005 - Okay, this is now the third time that I am writing this, the last two times I screwed up and erased it all before I could post it here, and each time it's different. So anyway, after saying some things about being home and how everything all kinda runs together, between printing pictures and building frames, I had been looking through some old photos of mine when I came across these two. The first one is from back in Medical Lake, from out in the front yard, of my old Harley. I had a lot of great old times on that thing, and I have some old scars to go with it. The second image is from my old bus, where I lived for over six years. This was up in La Conner, out on the reservation. This image is from the day we had it towed away, because I was moving again. Now I look back on those days and with what I'm doing now and think, Wow! what a ride it's been so far. Enjoy, and we'll see you later.
