March 31, 2006 - Hola! to you all. It's been a few days since I was here, and I thought that I had better give you an update as to what's up. I am now back home for a few days and am busy building frames and putting together new pieces for my next set of shows. It has been cloudy and cool up here in the Northwest, so as I look out at the yard the flowers are just now starting to blossom out. I hope that by the time I leave I will be able to have a few shots of the tulips opening up. But we'll just have to wait and see on that. I did manage to shoot one Daffodil that was out. The other image I have up is from inside my shop, where I do all my building of my frames and backgrounds for my work, as you can see it is just a little cramped but I can get a lot of things done there. Well the sun is coming up and I better get out there and go to work so we'll see you later.

March 28, 2006 - Not much going on today, it was a travel day. I pretty much just headed up the highway into the Dallas, Fort Worth airport and spent the afternoon waiting for my ride home. That ride home ended up being delayed to the point where I finally got back home around 2:00 am. So the images of the day are of I 35 just as you enter into Ft. Worth, and of my wait in the airport. And that about does it, see you later.

March 27, 2006 - So the show is over and I am now on my way to Dallas, where I will fly out of to go back home and get some more work done, and also send in some more applications for some other festivals. As I traveled along the back roads today I was able to do some shots of these flowers along the way. I came across this one field that was just covered with Blue Bonnets, and was able to do a series of shots that I might be able to put together as a panoramic image in the same style as my trains. The first image is from that field of flowers, the other image is of these other pink flowers that dot those same fields. It was also a cloudy day with some rain thrown in, so that helped with the colors of the flowers. I don't fly out until the evening so I should be able to get a few more pictures in before I leave.

March 26, 2006 - Hola! Good Morning, or when ever you are reading this. It is the last day of the art festival and in the years that I have done this show this had to have been the best weather that we've had for this show. In the low to mid 70;s and lots of sun. Not to mention the crowds, it was a good year. You can see by the first foto that even on Sunday the people came. Then of course, as in all festivals they must come to a close and it's time to tear down and head on down the road. As you can see by the second shot that it is late that evening by the time we are tearing down our booths. By the time I got out of there it was around 11:30 in the evening. Then instead of a nice dinner somewhere, it was off to a Denny's to grab an early breakfast, and then off to the hotel to get some sleep before heading out tomorrow morning. So we'll see you then.

March 25, 2006 - Good evening, Well it's 11:00 pm on Saturday night here, and the day is finally over. They were right on, on the weather today, a slight breeze with the high around 70 degrees. It was also going to be a long day out there today, with all the people that would be there. and I was right, you can see by all the people in the first picture. It was also time for our Saturday night dinner. This year we had around 16 people there. I still remember the first year when there were only 4 of us that went to dinner. So the second image put up tonight is of some of the group that was here for dinner, I think we were standing in line for almost an hour before we finally got to sit down and eat. After that it was all a feast with crawfish and everything else we had to eat. Now it's back at the hotel and finish up this out the window page and get some sleep and do one more day.

March 24, 2006 - So here it is, Friday, the first day of the art festival. It started out on the cool side this morning, it was around 36 degrees, but warmed up into the 60's by the end of the day. Tomorrow will be a lot nicer, the highs will be up in the low 70's and lots of sun. It will also be time for our Saturday night dinner at Floyd's Cajun Restaurant, I think it has been an annual trek for the last 6 or 7 years. But anyway, back to today. The images from today are from just outside my booth looking up the path. Tomorrow will be a lot different, with all the people that will be there. See you then.

March 23, 2006 - Well here I am, in Houston, and it's time to set up. So this is what it is all about. Find your booth space, pack your stuff in , and start setting up your booth and artwork. In this show all of the booths are on one side of the path, and set up in a large loop around the park. So the images of the day are of the booths around the area where I am, and of all my work piled up in front of my booth. The festival opens tomorrow at 10:00 am, so things will look a little different than today. So until tomorrow, have a good one.

March 22, 2006 - Well, the first thing that you should notice is that there are no pictures of clouds. Since I was able to travel off of the main highway today I was able to drive on the back roads at a slower pace, and was able to look around more, plus there were no clouds to speak of anyway. So along these roads I was able to see a few cactus that were just starting to flower. I'm not to sure, but I think the white one is a member of the Yucca family, while the red one was lower to the ground and was more of a barrel type cactus. I guess I will have to start bringing a book with me to keep up on the names. Later on in the day I did take some shots of some cloud formations that spun out like octopus arms across the sky, and were very interesting, but I think you have seen enough clouds for a while. So, I am now sitting in Sealy, TX and only about 45 miles out of Houston. I will get into town in the morning and go set up for the show and will also meet up with Mike and Melissa tomorrow. So we'll see you tomorrow evening with some set up shots from the day, see you later.

March 21, 2006 - There isn't much to say today, it has just been another long day of going down the road, getting closer to Houston. As you can see by these 2 pictures that there isn't much to see as you start into Texas for the first several hundred miles. The first image is from just outside of El Paso, just as you get into this fine state. The second image is from later on that day, from just outside of Ft. Stockton, around 275 miles in. Tomorrow I will finally start to see some changes in the landscape, from ground-cover to getting into a little more hilly country. I should have around 550 more miles to go tomorrow, if I want to get all the way to Houston, but we'll see, I might find something to shoot other than clouds or the highway, see you then.

March 20, 2006 - Well, I'm now another day closer to Houston. It was another day of driving down the road with all these clouds again. Shooting them a a wide angle really gives them that horizon to horizon feeling, and with those blue skies it really makes for a great view. So we now have another cloud shot for the day, as well as some old advertising painted on a wall in Superior, AZ. I took a few new side roads on the way here today and am now in Deming NM. By tomorrow night I hope to be in San Antonio, on day closer to Houston.

March 19, 2006 - I'm off again. I got up this morning finished unloading frames and headed down to the La Quinta Arts Festival to say hi to some friends. What should have been an hour turned into about four. By noon I did get onto the road and headed on toward Phoenix. The first image from today is of the La Quinta Arts Festival. As I drove toward Phoenix I saw these wonderful cloud formations, so now I have several different images of clouds and these are the ones that made it onto my web site. Then it was on to Phoenix to visit with Barbara, a dear friend of mine. Good night.

March 18, 2006 - Well, another long day of driving, but I am now in Palm Springs, full of sushi, and and I have unloaded the frames. So, now I will head on out towards Texas. The day started out with some nice weather this morning, but as the day progressed, the clouds started to move in and it got a little cooler. By the time I made it to Bakersfield, you could see the weather that I was heading into was going to be stormy. As you can see in this first shot, the snow line is right down behind the hills in front of me. Whenever I go this way I always have to stop and take a shot of this tree, there's just something about the way it sits there all by it self with all those hills around it. By the time I finally made it to the last part of my drive I had finally run into the front of the storm. This second shot is from the top of the pass before you make the drop down into Riverside, CA. Here it is, the middle of March, in Southern California, and it's snowing. So anyway I made it down through all the crazy traffic, and here I am in Palm Springs.

March 17, 2006 - Waaahooo!!! Finally, on the road. Its been a few months since I last had to drive this far in one day, and it was a long day. Besides towing a trailer along behind me, I had to stop and go for several construction jobs along the freeway. But that's all behind me now as I sit here in my room in Williams, California. Tomorrow I will head out to Palm Springs, and drop off an order of frames and leave the trailer back at the U Haul dealer. So the images of the day are as I droveThrough the bottom of Oregon, over the last pass, and then down into California, which is where the second image is from, as I passed out of one state and into another. Well that's about it for now, this is just the start, and it's going to be a long year of travel. See you tomorrow.

March 16, 2006 - Well this is it, I will be back out on the road tomorrow morning and on my way to Houston, TX. So this is kind of a test to see if I have this page figured out as far as posting my pictures on it so you can see where I am going or have been, so that will do it for now, lets see what this looks like.

March 6, 2006 - So, hello to everyone out there. As you can see my site has been very disfunctional for a while now, But that is going to slowly change now, over the next few days. I have been slowly changing things on my site such as colors, page displays, and the way my pictures will be shown, all in all I think it will be a nicer site to look at, and the images shown of my work will be more of what they really look like. So check back soon to see the new and improved DALEBUILT. COM. See you later.
