April 24, 2006 - I'm now sitting in Dallas, getting ready to leave for home tomorrow morning. I'll be there for 8 days before flying back here for a art festival the first weekend of May. This one will be the Cottonwood Art Festival in Richardson. Until then I'll be at home working on more art. On the way here I stopped and did a few shots that I might be able to do something with. Since I've been on the road I have a lot of images that I will go through to see what might work. I know I have two that I will try to get done for the next show because they are both Texas images. One is of a field of Blue Bonnets, and the other is another Train shot. Well, that does it for now, I have to be outa here by 4:30 in the morning to catch my plane.

April 23, 2006 - Well here we are again. It's Sunday, the last day for the festival, and more hot weather. Lots of people again, and a lot of talking about my work. It kinda reminds me of when I started doing my transfers and had to always explain about how the process was done. Now I'm doing the same thing again. So anyway, here are some images of the day again. The first one is from early in the day, with all the people around, the second is from after the show and another tear down in process. Now it's over and I'm back at the hotel and will leave for Dallas tomorrow to catch a plane for home on Tuesday. So we'll see you later.

April 22, 2006 - Saturday, and the first day of the art festival. Wow! what a hot one, and humid to. The show opens up at 10:00 in the morning and the people were lined up ready to come in. As you entered the grounds of the festival this group of musicians were there to greet you with their singing and music. Later that morning the festival was packed with people moving around through all the art booths and inside the school where there were even more booths. This second image is from the early afternoon and of all the people there. After the show closed for the day all the artists were invited to a dinner over at the school where we had a good dinner and a few drinks before heading off in different directions to get ready for the next day.

April 21, 2006 - Ahhhh! it feels good to be back on the road, and now setting up for my next show. So here I am in San Antonio, it's Friday, and it's going to be a warm, great weekend for the festival. It was a busy day, getting into the show and setting up my booth. I like my location, facing east, so I get the morning sun while it is still cool. Then it will be at the back of my booth for the hot afternoon. They say the highs will be in the 90's for the weekend. So here are a few images of setup at this show. Well , now it's time to relax for the evening, before hitting it tomorrow morning. See you later.

April 20, 2006 - So I'm sitting here tonight wondering what I should use for my two pictures for the day. Since I didn't go anywhere I thought of using something from the past few days, but then I thought with all the talk and pictures of going to the beach and all these other places, people probably thought that I might be in some hotel that was by the beach or something. So I thought, why not do the last two images of Corpus Christi from the balcony of the hotel I was staying at. So here they are, It's not quite the Ritz, but it wasn't that far from the beaches and other things that I went to. Now tomorrow I will head up to San Antonio and start my set up for this coming weekend. See you tomorrow.

>April 19, 2006 - Well, one day left and I'm outa here. So today I went down to the Texas State Aquarium, and spent some time wandering around the place. It was kinda tough to get any pictures in this place because of the low lighting and not being allowed to use any flash. So I did my best to get some shots of the fish and jellyfish that were there. And this is what I came up with for my images of the day, I hope you like them.

April 18, 2006 - Well it's almost time to head back up to san Antonio for my next show so I thought I would hit the beach one more time before I go. On the way out there I headed downtown to drive out that way. On the way out I came across this old boat that used to take people out on a waterfront tour of the city. It is now tied up and for sale, and needs a lot of work to get it back out there again. Then it was on out to the beach. I drove down about 5 miles again, and unloaded my bike for another ride down the beach. Along the way I came across this Blue Heron out looking for fish. Then it was on with my last ride down the beach. Maybe next year I'll be back.

April 17, 2006 - Today I headed out over to Mustang Island and ended up across a ferry and up the road to a Wildlife Refuge. I spent the better part of the afternoon taking little hikes around the loop that you drive your car around. At one area you walked out on a trail of raised planks that took you out to a pond. I was able to see everything from alligators to Havilena, which are wild pigs. At a few stops I was able to walk along the beach, and that was where I shot these two images. I liked the old dock, it has probably seen it's fair share of storms, along with all the dead wood from the trees as they slid down the banks, as the dirt and sand was eaten away from under them. Then it was back home for the evening.

April 16, 2006 - First off Happy Easter, now that the formalities are out of the way, on to the good stuff. Instead of going to the beach along with lots of other people I decided to either go to the Botanical Gardens or to the Aquarium, I ended up at the gardens. I ended up spending a couple of hours there. They have 165 acres of trails around ponds and through woods, over plank walkways and dirt trails. I ended up getting a few shots of some more cactus, as if I didn't already have enough of those. I also spent some time in their Orchid House where the orchids all happen to be blooming. So that's what ended up being my pictures for the day.

April 15, 2006 - Spent the day out at South Padre Island today, and took a nice bike ride along the beach. I will spend a few more there before I leave. I drove the first 5 miles down the beach to where the tracks get a little softer so you need a four wheel drive to go the other 55 miles if you want to. so that's where I parked and pulled the bike off the front. I rode down to the 15 mile marker, it was a few hours later, stopping to check things out along the way. Then it was time to turn around and head back to the van. Sometime this week I will go back when there are less people and stay for the sunset, and maybe go a little farther down the beach. On the way back I got this picture of the local wildlife around here. This is one of the jellyfish that inhabit the area, and can leave nasty burning welts on your body. This one was a little bigger than a softball, and a nice blue color. As I got closer to the van I saw these two out surf fishing. This was the final image, but it was what went on before that was fun to watch. They had a rope tied between them and as he would go out into the waves she would bob along behind. She was having a great time. When they finally came in, he had caught this small fish and I thought this would make a fine image to close the day on. so we'll see you tomorrow.

April 14, 2006 - Today was one of those short days for driving. I left San Antonio at noon and drove down to Corpus Christi in a few hours time. Along the way I was able to get a few more images of cactus blooms. Out around Big Bend there were not to many cactus blooming because they are going through draught conditions, but out here on the way to the coast there is a little more moisture in the air so there are more cactus blooming. I will spend the next 5 or 6 days down here going out to Mustang Island, and the South Padre Islands. Most of it is State Park so I will pull my bike off the front of my van and do some riding around along the beach. Todays images are one more set of blossoms, but this time I have one of a different color.

April 13, 2006 - Well, I'm back in San Antonio, and will head out for the coast tomorrow. Today I got to within 70 miles of San Antonio before taking highway 83 and going north for 70 miles before heading back towards my original destination, which was now 110 miles away. Along the way on highway 83 I took these shots from out the window of my van. This is pretty much what this area of Texas looks like, a lot of rolling hills, and short cedar and juniper trees with cactus in between them and lots of rocks under them.

April 12, 2006 - Up and at um, I started out at 6:00 this morning and just got in at 9:30 this evening. In between I put on 450 miles of back road driving. I started out in Big Bend State Park, following the Rio Grande. And then went into Big Bend National Park. I was hoping to get some images of cactus blooming but they are having a draught in this part of Texas so there were not to many blooms. I did manage to get a few though, as you can see by the first image. I ended up in Del Rio, Texas but along the way I went over this bridge, which is the highest highway bridge in Texas. It goes over the Pecos River, and is 273 feet high and 1310 feet long. So now I'm in for the evening and will figure out where I will go tomorrow.

April 11, 2006 - This morning started out as a bright sunny day, but off in the distance you could see the clouds moving in. I left Brownwood this morning and headed out south on 377 then changed over to 67. This took me all the way to my resting point for the evening, here in Alpine, Texas, just outside of Big Bend. Along the way I traveled through several small towns that are on the edge of disappearing off the map. The first image from today is from one of those towns. This used to be the local Drug Store, but is now just an empty shell. The next image is from a town that still has a working main street, and some neat old buildings and signs. Well, tomorrow I should hopefully see some blooming cactus, and whatever else. You will just have to wait and see. By for now.

April 10, 2006 - So here I am, back out on the road again. How many times will I say that this year. I left Dallas around noon today, and headed out South, towards Big Bend National Park, where, hopefully I will find some blooming cactus. I also hope to get a few panoramic shots for some landscape images. On my way down along Highway 337 I came into Dublin, the hometown of Dr. Pepper, The soft drink. The images of the day are of the original Dr. Pepper bottling plant, and of a advertisement painted on a building. Maybe I can do something with these, we'll just have to wait till I get back home and see. Well, that about does it for now, more coming tomorrow, see you then.

April 9, 2006 - Well it's finally over, and now it's on to the next show. Almost, first I have a few days to go out and do some shooting and see if I can come up with a few new shots that will work for my process. I'm hoping that there should be some cactus blooming, and maybe I will even get another train shot. But now back to the present. It was another good day weatherwise but because of the march that was going on downtown it was a little slow at the show. The images from today are of the afternoon crowd, and of the start of teardown after the show. See Ya!

April 8, 2006 - Saturday and the winds were gone! It started out a little cloudy this morning, but by one in the afternoon the clouds had disappeared and were replaced by a nice sunny day. As you can see by the pictures we had a great crowd from early afternoon on into the evening. tomorrow we start up at 11:00 in the morning and go till 7:00 that evening before tearing down at the end of the show. Well, that about does it for now, we'll see you tomorrow.

April 7, 2006 - Wind, Wind, Wind. I think this had to be the windiest setup for Deep Ellum since I've been doing the show. So after setup we opened up for the evening. I finally closed down at 10:00 p.m. and headed back to my hotel. Tomorrow is going to be a good day weather wise, with the temp around 68 to 70 and a little breezy. Then Sunday will be in the mid 70's, but we've all heard that before, so we'll just have to wait and see. So the images for today are from late in the afternoon when everyone was set up to later that evening with the people out milling around and checking out the artwork and listening to the music at one end of the show.

April 6, 2006 - Back on the road again, I had some shots planned for showing here, but time went by so quick I didn't have any time for them. So it's now 2:00 in the morning here in Dallas so this is just a quckie. The first image is from above the Golden Gate Bridge as we were flying into San Francisco. The other Image is from the airport in Dallas, at 12:30 in the morning, while I was waiting for the bus to take me out to my van, and that about does it for now, I'm tired, see you later.

April 3, 2006 - Hello, well here I am again. I'm still at home working on things to take back out on the road with me. The weather has stayed about the same since I've been here with a little bit of rain and a little bit of sun, but that is starting to bring out the flowers in the yard. So with nothing better to bring you I will give you 2 shots of my yard. Enjoy.
